How to use cheat engine!

Here I`ll show a simple way of using cheat engine. First, lets try to cheat a simple game, like solitaire. First you should download cheat engine at www.cheatengine.org

After installing and running it, with the game solitaire running, click on the
"Select a process" button on Cheat Engine.

A process list will be opened, and you`ll have to select the process of the game you want to cheat (In this case solitaire.exe is the process you are looking for).

If needed you can find out the name of the process by pressing "Ctrl+Alt+Del" and selecting Task Manager, and then on the applications tab, right-click the name of the game and then select "Go to process".

With the right process selected on the process list on cheat engine, play some solitaire until you score get a score different to 0. As soon as your score change on the game, go to cheat engine and type the new score on the value box and click "First Scan" (You might need to do this fast, because on solitaire you lose score as the time passes).



After scanned you`ll notice alot of addresses and values on the left box, one of which is the value you want to change. Just wait a few seconds or play a little for the score on the game to change, and then type the new value on Cheat Engine and then click "Next Scan". If you did everything correct you`ll see only a few addresses on the right box (possibly only one), so keep inputting the new value on cheat engine and clicking Next Scan until you end up with only one address.



Then double click that value and it will be sent to the box on the bottom. All you have to do now is to double click the value on the box below and just change it to wathever number you like. Your score in solitaire will also be changed to that value, simple as that.



Note that you can use only cheat engine and similar softwares to access data being processes in your computer, so accessing data of online games isn`t possible. For the record, it is still possible to cheat flash games, as most of them runs in your computer, so you can change the score and then submit it online.

What kind of games can I cheat?

As explained in the introduction, you can cheat on any game you want, you just need to know which kind of game you are playing, so you can figure a way to cheat on it. Games kinds can be divided in two: Server and Client based games.

Client based games:

Those are the easiest kind of games to cheat on, because all the information used by the game is stored and processed in your computer, giving you free access to modify any of this information. (e.g. Any offline / single player game, from solitarie to Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2). Cheating on this kind of game is really easy, all you need to do is use a software that allows you to find and modify the data while it is being processed. I would personally recommend Cheat Engine.

Server based games:

Those games have most of their information and data being processed on their servers (e.g. Online games), so accessing this data is almost impossible. An easier way of cheating on those kind of games is either finding or creating a software to do the job for you. It is usually easier to create a software to play the game than mastering the game yourself, and very often you don`t even need to create it, since someone else might already have done the hard work for you, and all you have to do is download the software and use it. If you can`t find a decent software for the game you are trying to cheat, you can always use a macro recorder, for doing repetivive tasks or a automated script creator tool. For repetitive tasks, I think a task builder like Automate 7 would be ideal. I also recommend AutoIt and AutoHotkey for creating automated scripts.

Note that creating automated scripts might involve some programming, and if you aren`t willing to learn any programming and are serious about cheating a online game, you can still pay someone to create an automated script for you. A great website for finding programmers is www.vworker.com

Introduction on cheating

Doesn`t matter what kind of game you are playing, its always possible to cheat on it. But as in life, you must understand that sometimes when you cheat, you might get punished. The reason this blog exists is to prevent you from being punished in any way while cheating on games.
